Use-Lab not only acts as an established service provider for medical device manufacturers throughout the different phases of product development, but also actively engages in the training of future Human Factors Engineers.

On this occasion,Thore Reitz made his way to the University of Twente in September 2022 in order to hold a guest lecture for the master students of the study course “Human Factors & Engineering Psychology” during which he shared his extensive practical knowledge in the Human Engineering field.

The lecture mainly focused on the development of Use Scenarios for a fictitious mobile patient monitoring system. After an introduction of a 3D-printed prototype of the respective product and its intended use, the students learned how to develop Use Scenarios for this system based on the known Use Specifications.

Moreover, Thore presented connections to risk analysis, user groups and use environment and gave an outlook on how the specified Use Scenarios can be integrated into the planning of summative evaluations

To conclude, it was a successful afternoon with several interesting discussions, which will surely be repeated sometime.
